Psychological counselling

Noël Labridy, MA

non-visible and visible disabilities

online and in-person

Health challenges – whether our own or those of people close to us – often create a specific and immediate desire for support. Talking about physical and emotional experiences, and expressing one’s wishes and needs, can help us feel less alone. This is precisely where my counselling comes in.

As a peer counsellor, I support you to together look for ways to empower you in dealing with challenges. Drawing on narrative therapy, problems are consciously viewed from the outside in order to mitigate their impact and strengthen one’s own sense of agency and self-worth.

Consulting Services

The counselling is aimed particularly at people with (chronic) illnesses/disabilities and their close ones (e.g., parents, care taker, friends). The counselling mainly deals with concrete difficulties and questions.

Everything you share during sessions is confidential.

Key topics

  • Consulting and practical support with application forms and contact with authorities

  • Providing support for medical appointments, hospital stays and related experiences

  • Challenges and changes in life circumstances – e.g. work, multi-discrimination, social environment, loss, physical strength

Counselling is not therapy. However, it can be used as a form of support while waiting for a therapy place or as an accompanying measure.
